Despite having completed the request to its letter, having not fully explored the shrine they retreated to the room filled with necromancy texts to sleep the night and finish exploring it in the morning. Braving the undead, consisting of wraiths and various skeletons, including some that were ablaze, after a hard fought battle the party succeeded, but were badly wounded. Unfortunately for them winged skeletons with dog tags around their neck was spotted, and they discovered that the ward stopped attacks from outside the room entering it. Continuing the exploring, they found another room protected by a magic circle, this time a ward to keep whatever was within inside, which they quickly found out was because the room was filled with undead, with a zone of desecrated ground inside. The party worked out that the room was somehow protecting what was within from aging, and found evidence someone was copying the books within because when what was in the room left it, time caught up to it immediately, causing the books on draconic necromancy to crumble to dust. Exploring the shrine, they found a room protected by a magic circle, filled with books. The spell steering people away was centered here and the way was bared with an arcane barrier though, but between talented uses of thievery and arcana, it was bypassed. Eventually the party found a shrine to Falazure, the draconic god of undeath. The party having a purpose though found the spell ineffective on them. After the fight the party found tracks of dragged bodies and blood to follow, and in doing so found a strange magical effect, a spell on the area subtly trying to nudge them away, not a barrier, but more a spell to make a person simply forget or rationalise away why they were in the area, and steer them away. Along the way as the forest was explored, the party encountered wolves, which were odd in that they seemed magically compelled to attack. They got from Rikas a map, and a rough area the hunters were in when they went missing, and using that the party left the floating two-tiered city of Skyreach. You have a fully copy of the request in the journal, but the short of it was to look for several hunters that had gone missing, and if alive bring them back safely, if dead, bring back their dog tags for proof. Request 1 - The adventurer's were called to Skyreach because of a request from Rikas, Captain of the Stormtalons. The DM should be better at keeping notes but oh well.
